MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon News delivery personnel will be stopping at five new homes each week through Dec. 9, with complimentary copies of Knox County’s only local content driven newspaper.

The effort is a new promotion to introduce the News to potential subscribers and to reward carriers for building relationships with all customers.

News carriers learned about the new promotion and the rewards during a meeting on Saturday.

“We want our carriers to reach out and make that personal connection with current and future subscribers,” said News Circulation Manager Mike McNichols.

The promotion, which will run through Dec. 9, will provide carriers with extra papers each day to provide a weeklong sampling to five non-subscribers for the week. New subscriptions acquired by carriers will garner them a cash stipend as well as a chance to win prizes.
