MOUNT VERNON — They packed ThePlace@TheWoodward during the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival and now, by popular demand, are returning to a larger facility, the Knox County Memorial Theater in Mount Vernon — the Beatles. Ringo Starr (portrayed by Bill Miller), George Harrison (Desmond Wall), John Lennon (Jim Stoner) and Paul McCartney (Mike Petee) bring the Beatles to life by singing and playing their songs and telling stories they might have told.

Elixir and the popular Chautauqua Series, co-sponsored by the Ohio Humanities Council, present in partnership with Food for the Hungry, the chance to experience a Beatle reunion of sorts, at the Memorial Theater on Wednesday at 7 p.m. This event will help those in need in the community. Suggested cost of admission is food items (see top 10 needs list at www.foodforthe hungrycares.org) and/or a monetary donation (either give at the door or put money in collection basket that will be passed near the end of the performance). If unable to give, everyone is invited to come and enjoy.

“The Beatles’ music touched our lives in so many ways,” said Mike Petee, chautauqua organizer and portrayer of Paul McCartney. “It brought smiles, comfort and acceptance to us who were in need of heroes. Their songs preached love and we are honored to bring their music to our community to aid those who need it at this time.”

The group will include special guest stars to augment the quartet and provide an expansive show. Miller, Wall, Stoner and Petee have prepared a special show to satisfy the Beatles fan in everyone. The show is G-rated, so the whole family is urged to attend.
