With rain and a heavy overcast, it looked like night was coming early when elementary schools released students for the holiday break at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. At Pleasant Street Elementary School, there were parents waiting, some with umbrellas and all dressed against the damp air as students came walking and running out the front door. There are 400 elementary students in the school.
