SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — A man charged with killing another passenger at the Greyhound bus terminal in Springfield waived his preliminary hearing on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
After waiving his right to a preliminary hearing on Monday, Mohamed Dawod of Glendale, Ariz., was scheduled for arraignment this Friday.
Dawod is accused of shooting 32-year-old Justin Hall, of Mount Vernon, on Sept. 8, when the cross-country bus made a brief stop in Springfield. Prosecutors say Dawod shot Hall in the head at close range before other passengers subdued him.
KY3-TV reports that witnesses told police Dawod and Hall did not interact before the shooting. Police don’t think they knew each other and a motive for the shooting has not been established.
