The 2012 primary election is set for Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Area voters will have the chance to vote absentee or be registered to vote by Feb. 6, 2012.
South Main Street in Mount Vernon, between Gambier Street and Vine Street, will be closed to traffic on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon. Closure is to allow placement of an HVAC unit onto the roof of the FirstMerit Bank. The city and the contractor are cooperating to minimize the time South Main Street will be closed.
