MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Commissioners continued their round of budget hearings on Thursday and heard from county treasurer Sandra Mizer.

Mizer said her department’s budget, at $151,000 is probably the lowest of all the elected officials’ in the county. She said salaries, benefits and items such as supplies are all included in the budget amount.

For 2012, Mizer asked for no increase in her general fund budget. Since no raises were requested on behalf of her personnel, Mizer did ask the commissioners if they would reimburse employees for the expected increase in health insurance out-of-pocket expenses.

The commissioners will consider the request, but took no action on it at this time.
