MOUNT VERNON — Judy Stahl-Reynolds will take over as Mount Vernon City Schools’ treasurer on Jan. 15.
Stahl-Reynolds earned a masters degree in school finance at Ashland University and has been in the education field since 1980. She is currently the treasurer and chief financial officer for Lexington Local Schools, where she also served on the school board prior to her employment there as treasurer. Her experience as a school treasurer includes stints at Lucas Local Schools and Bucyrus City Schools.
Stahl-Reynolds said she is looking forward to the move to the Mount Vernon district.
“I was ready for something different,” she said. “A city school is different from a local school district. There are more programs, the funding is a little different with the federal money. Basically, I was just looking for a change.
“I’m really looking forward to working at Mount Vernon. It’s interesting how different [from Lexington] the school is. It’s bigger. There are about 1,200 more students which creates a different level of service for the students.”
Stahl-Reynolds said she is very impressed with the Mount Vernon community involvement with the schools and with how the businesses and the city work with the schools to accomplish things.
“That’s really nice,” she said. “That’s exciting.
Stahl-Reynolds, who is married to Keith Reynolds, lives just south of Mansfield near Snow Trails and has two grown children; son, Matt Gerberick and daughter, Jennifer Kime.
