MOUNT VERNON — A Mount Vernon man was indicted on 12 counts of pandering involving a minor.
Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher said James A. Waulk, 36, was indicted on 12 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor and pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor. Investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force discovered that Waulk was sharing over the Internet five computer files allegedly found to contain child pornography on May 18 and 20. After Waulk’s computer was seized pursuant to a search warrant on Sept. 13, a forensic analysis of the computer revealed he had 38 files allegedly found to contain child pornography. According to the indictment, Chad E. Varner, 31, Mount Vernon, was convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in Morrow County in 2003. As a registered sex offender, Varner was convicted of failing to provide change of address notification to the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office in 2007. Varner was indicted on a new charge of failing to provide change of address notification to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly changing his address without notification on Oct. 29. Christopher Schaade, 19, Danville, allegedly broke into a Danville residence on June 27. Schaade is charged with burglary. Sgt. Dan Weckesser, Danville Police Department, investigated the case.
Larry O. Gardner, 39, faces a charge of corrupting another with drugs for allegedly furnishing marijuana to a minor on Nov. 26. Deputy James Ferenbaugh, KCSO, investigated the case.
Amy M. Loman, 24, Mount Vernon, is accused of possessing heroin during a traffic stop on Oct. 9. Deputy Brandon Minot, KCSO, made the arrest.
Jarred T. Baldwin, 18, Mount Vernon, allegedly was in possession of stolen gold jewelry and gold coins on Sept. 17, when he and an accomplice sold the stolen items at a pawn shop. Baldwin is charged with receiving stolen property. Deputy Tim Light, KCSO, investigated the case.
Tina M. Oliver, 38, Centerburg, was indicted on a bad check charge for allegedly giving a worthless $1,400 check to her landlord on Aug. 1. Detective Doug Turpen, KCSO, investigated the case.
According to the indictment, Shad W. Lynds, 39, Mount Vernon, was convicted of domestic violence in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court in 2009 and 2010. Lynds faces a third-degree felony domestic violence charge for allegedly assaulting his live-in girlfriend on Dec. 8. Sgt. Fred Gerber, MVPD, responded to the domestic disturbance call.
Mount Vernon Municipal Court records show that Matthew W. Brady, 26, Walhonding, was convicted of domestic violence in 2006. Brady is accused of fourth-degree felony domestic violence for allegedly assaulting his spouse on Dec. 3. Deputy Courtenay Biggs, KCSO, investigated the case.
Arraignments are scheduled for Jan. 4 before Common Pleas Court Judge Otho Eyster.
