DANVILLE — The Danville Village Council made some preparations for 2012 at its meeting Tuesday.
Council elected Jill Byers as president pro-tem, received committee appointments from Mayor Bob Dile and rejoined the Mount Vernon-Knox County Chamber of Commerce and the Ohio Municipal League.
Byers, the longest serving council member, was elected president pro-tem, who would be second in charge following the mayor.
Council agreed to pay the $200 yearly dues to rejoin the chamber and $450 yearly dues for the Ohio Municipal League. The village uses both entities for its benefit, including cheaper workers’ compensation rates and for legal services.
The members also held a first reading on a resolution re-establishing membership in the Knox County Regional Planning Commission. Councilman Mike Waldeck agreed to continue as the village’s representative on RPC, while Byers agreed to be the alternate representative.
