UTICA — Organizing for 2012, the North Fork school board on Monday welcomed newly-elected board members Theresa Magers and Lori Stradley.
Bernard Snow was chosen to serve as president for 2012 and Ben Bandy will be the vice president. Bandy will also act as the legislative liaison and Robert Krueger is the student achievement liaison to the Ohio School Boards Association.
As an annual course of action, the board approved standing authorizations and established committee meeting schedules.
The regular business meeting was short and largely routine, Superintendent Scott Hartley told the News on Tuesday.
In addition to approving routine fiscal actions, the board renewed membership in the Ohio School Boards Association and approved a listing agreement with Anderson Layman for real estate consulting services for the sale of the Mill Street and Spring Street properties. That agreement is retroactive to November.
Regarding personnel, the board accepted a letter of resignation from elementary teacher Tim Binckley, effective at the end of the 2011-12 school year. It also approved a list of instructors and stipends for the Virtual Learning Academy, accepted the certificated substitute list and added Alban Feeney to the classified substitute list.
The next regular meeting of the North Fork school board is scheduled for Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. It will be held in Utica Junior High School.
