MOUNT VERNON — Candidates for the Knox County Sheriff and County Treasurer positions were featured Thursday night at a Meet The Candidates town meeting sponsored by the Knox County 912 Project.

Held at the Knox County Career Center Adult Education Building, the two-hour forum brought together the two Republican candidates for each position who will face off in the March 6 primary election.

First up in the forum moderated by 912 Project member Dan Offineer of Gambier were Shelley Coon and Renee McDaniel, candidates for county treasurer.

The candidates are seeking to fill the position currently held by retiring Treasurer Sandra Mizer.
