HOWARD —Looking for solutions to the district’s dire financial situation, the East Knox school board continues to explore ways to reduce operating expenses. One proposal is to close down the elementary building in Bladensburg and move all students to the Howard campus.
To determine if that would be a viable option, the board commissioned a study by Ashland University’s Telego Center for Educational Improvement.
Two options were identified by the study team. Option 1 would house pre-kindergarten through grade five in the current middle school and grades eight through 12 in the current high school. Grades six and seven would be housed in modular classrooms.
