MOUNT VERNON — The Governing Board of the Knox County Educational Service Center is looking for an individual to serve on the board. Board member Lori Ackerman-Bechtel has submitted her resignation, effective Jan. 16, and the board plans to appoint someone to complete her term, which expires Dec. 31, 2013. Interested parties should submit a a letter of interest along with a resume to Treasurer Heather Darnold by the end of the day on Feb. 16. Candidate interviews will be scheduled for Feb. 23.

After approving routine fiscal actions at its meeting on Wednesday, the board went into executive session to discuss personnel matters.

Returning to open session, the board approved an agreement to provide speech therapy services to Mount Vernon City Schools. It also entered into an agreement with Clear Fork Valley schools to provide temporary personnel and contracted with Invo HealthCare Associates for occupational therapy services for the ESC. Anna Wallschlaeger is the person assigned to provide those services.

Regarding personnel, the board accepted the resignation of occupational therapist Katherine Kraft, effective Jan. 31, and subsequently employed Jennifer Campbell as an occupational therapy assistant, effective Feb. 14. Unpaid medical leaves for Rita Norris and Janet Beckler were approved, and Michelle Tackett was hired to fill the position of preschool aide for the Clear Fork Valley school district. The board also added to the substitute teacher and substitute teacher aide lists.

No further action was taken.
