MOUNT VERNON — Partly as a way to make up for state funding cuts to local governments, the Ohio Department of Development has launched the Local Government Innovation Fund program. It is designed to help local political subdivisions — such as soil and water conservation districts, park districts and county offices — plan and implement “efficient and effective service delivery.”
Rob Clendening, Knox Soil & Water Conservation District, met with the county commissioners on Thursday to give them an overview of the program. Knox County Auditor Jonette Curry, park district director Kim Marshall and 9-1-1 coordinator Rick Dzik were also in attendance.
