MOUNT VERNON— Mount Vernon Memorial Theater on Friday evening abounded with talent, fitness and self-expression as 25 accomplished high school seniors took to the stage to showcase their many accomplishments in their quest to earn college scholarships and the opportunity to represent Ohio as the Distinguished Young Woman of Ohio for 2012.
Kinsey Crow, Knox County’s 2011 Junior Miss and Ohio’s Distinguished Young Woman of 2011, returned to the spotlight, helping program emcees Dana Ullom-Vucelich and Jenna Vucelich introduce the contestants and entertain the audience. She performed throughout the evening, singing, in turn, “Who Says,” “Feelin’ Good” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.”
Previously evaluated in the categories of scholastics (20 percent of total score) and interview (25 percent), the 25 young women in the DYW Class of 2012 on Friday took part in fitness, self-expression and/or talent portions of the program, with the final events taking place tonight.
