MOUNT VERNON — The past year was an “incredibly good” one for the Knox County Convention and Visitors Bureau, director Pat Crow told the county commissioners Monday. Crow and CVB Board of Trustees Chairwoman Gloria Parsisson were at the commissioners office to present their annual report.
Crow said it was a record year for lodging tax revenue, which funds the agency.
“The only time close was when the Kenyon College athletic facility was under construction (2007-08),” he said.
Crow said they are projecting a “flat budget” as they don’t have any major new expenses or sources of income that would drive the budget up or down. Bed tax income was $131,754 in 2011, and they are projecting $130,000 for 2012. Other income sources are minor.
Crow said their goal is to keep the budget in the black, and they have done that.
