MOUNT VERNON — A press conference has been tentatively scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Dan Emmett Conference Center concerning the future of the center and of the Station Break Senior Center.

Mayor Richard Mavis, who also serves as chair of the Station Break board, would not say what the announcement will be, except that it does concern the future of the conference center and the Station Break.

As chair of the senior board, Mavis pointed out the organization has been looking for a new home for the senior center because the present location is too small. They especially need more kitchen space for the 300-plus meals prepared each day.
