The Mount Vernon City police were investigating charges that Jefferson made threats at the board meeting, which would be a misdemeanor.
Jefferson, the engineering drafting instructor at KCCC, was placed on paid administrative leave on Feb. 24, the day after the threats were allegedly made.
The letter informing Jefferson that he would be placed on leave states, “Until the investigation is completed, you will remain on administrative leave with pay.”
Because KCCC officials have not yet received official word of the lack of charges from the MVPD, it is unclear when Jefferson will return to the classroom.
