MOUNT VERNON — Knox County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a suspect in the robbery of Hot Rod’s on Harcourt Road, Monday evening.

According to the report filed by Deputy Thomas Durbin, the robbery occurred about 6:30 p.m. when a man entered the store and demanded the money from the cash register. He kept his right hand inside his jacket as though he had a weapon.

The clerk opened the register and handed the money to the suspect, who fled the store and ran down Kentucky Avenue.

The suspect was described as a white male, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, medium build, with “scruffy” facial hair. He had tattoos on his neck and hands and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up and a black leather coat.

Capt. Dave Shaffer said this morning that no suspect had been apprehended.
