Jodi Seavolt Kreager used Photoshop to clean up a Xerox copy of a picture believed to be taken in the 1930s of downtown Mount Vernon. The copy, found in a drawer, shows Mount Vernon's South Main Street including Knerr Tire Service, Cardinal's Market, a hotel and Dowds. A sign at Knerr advertises gas at 17 cents a gallon. A large image of the copy was donated recently by John Seavolt, right, to the Knox County Historical Society Museum. Accepting the donation is museum director Jim Gibson. (Photo by Virgil Shipley)
