CENTERBURG — A total of 103 Cub Scouts in the Arrowhead District of the Muskingum Valley Council gathered at Centerburg High School on Saturday for the annual Pinewood Derby. This competition is for all Cub Scouts in Knox and Coshocton counties where the Scouts create their own Derby car and prepare it for racing.
Cars are also judged on craftsmanship before the race begins.
Cubmaster of Centerburg Pack 382 Kyle Goodknight was overseer of the competition as Pack 382 was host pack for the day. Area Boy Scouts helped facilitate the event. As the Cub Scouts were paired up in competition, they were taught one of the aspects of Scouting, respect, as they shook hands with their competitor before the race.
