An update of the traffic controller at the intersection of West High and Sandusky streets took place Tuesday. Mount Vernon Safety-Service Director Dave Glass said this was one of many 25-year-old electro-mechanical units which have been failing and are now being phased out. New heads were also installed over the new type of bulbs which are now used. Shown performing the work with the Mount Vernon Street Department is Dan Shaw. The signal at this intersection was shut down for about three hours Tuesday while the upgrade was taking place. (Photo by Alan Reed)
