MOUNT VERNON — An energy audit may be in the future for select Knox County buildings if determined beneficial. The Knox County Commissioners met with Al Berger of MKC and Associates, and Greg Smith of Energy Optimizers, USA on Monday morning to hear a proposal from Smith about an energy audit which could be a potential cost savings for the county. Berger has worked on similar projects with the county in the past and was attending as a consultant to insure compliance of the proposed audit.
