MOUNT GILEAD — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic crash which took place at approximately 5:30 a.m., this morning.

The crash occurred on Ohio 314, approximately one mile north of the Knox County line in South Bloomfield Township in Morrow County.

The patrol reported Robert V. Brammer, 39, Centerburg, sustained fatal injuries while driving a 1990 Honda Prelude. Brammer suffered severe injuries to his chest and head and died in the ambulance while enroute to Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. Also injured in the crash was Tyler Bowers, 20, Centerburg, who was driving a 2001 Dodge Stratus. Bowers sustained a broken leg, chest and head injuries and was flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

The crash occurred as Brammer was traveling north on Ohio 314 and Bowers was traveling south. Bowers lost control when he drove into deep water on the roadway. Bowers slid left of center and struck Brammer head-on. Seat belts were not in use by either driver.
