MOUNT VERNON — A Mount Vernon woman is in the Knox County Jail after multiple charges were filed following a one-vehicle crash on Friday.
Mount Vernon Police Chief Mike Merrilees reported that Amber K. Pilotti, 30, of Mount Vernon, was traveling on Shirley Avenue at 7:24 p.m. Friday when she lost control of her vehicle, striking a guy-wire, a fire hydrant and a building at 213 Shirley Ave.
No other vehicles were involved, and Pilotti was not injured. Non-functional damage was sustained to the 2000 Chevy Blazer she was driving.
Mount Vernon Police officers responded to a 9-1-1 call. Pilotti, who had two active warrants for her arrest, was charged with reckless operation, refusing BAC test, OVI, driving under suspension, open container, resisting arrest and falsification.
Pilotti was taken to the Knox County Jail. The vehicle, which is registered to Edward Smith Jr., was taken to the city impound lot.
