MOUNT VERNON — Knox County Common Pleas Court Judge Otho Eyster has granted a second continuance in the trial of Shawn Christy.
Scheduled for court today, Christy’s case has been rescheduled for Aug. 7. He faces 17 felony counts and two misdemeaner counts including forgery, falsification and tampering with records.
Christy resigned from his position of chief of the Mount Vernon Fire Department in August 2011, after being placed on paid administrative leave in June, after the state EMS board started its investigation into whether or not Christy falsified documents for his EMS recertification.
