MOUNT VERNON -- Josh Mandel brought his campaign to unseat U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown to Mount Vernon, Tuesday morning, speaking to a gathering of the local chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business.
MOUNT VERNON -- There was a good turnout Tuesday for the Health Career Fair hosted by the Knox County Career Center adult education department. Both employer representatives and educational training representatives were on hand to meet prospective employees or prospective students wanting to advance their skills.
CENTERBURG -- The Centerburg school board on Monday voted to implement a reduction in force due to financial reasons. The board eliminated one seventh- to 12th-grade math position and one sixth- to 12th- grade physical edcucation position.
MOUNT VERNON -- Reports of a dispute between Sheriff David Barber and 9-1-1 Director Richard Dzik, involving the use of female dispatchers to frisk incoming female inmates are apparently overblown. Both say there is no dispute.
MOUNT VERNON -- Two Knox County deputy sheriffs were honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
POWELL -- The Fredericktown Freddies are finding new ways to win.
DUBLIN -- The Jonathan Alder Pioneers came out swinging.
