A little touch of beauty was added to Main Street in Mount Vernon on Wednesday morning. Knox County Career Center students in the Ambassador Program were performing their end-of-year community service project by cleaning the flower beds of weeds and debris, and planting flowers and bushes. KCCC partnered with the Heritage Centre Association in this project. Christa Ciatola of Christa’s Complete Landscaping and Craig Campbell, horticulture instructor at KCCC, helped organize the day’s efforts. The plants were supplied by Country Colors Greenhouse with funding provided by the Walter Rudin Foundation. Phil Herald of Herald’s Applicances and Electronics is providing water for the plants throughout the summer.
