Parents and children will be pleased to know G.E.A.R. (Get Excited About Reading), will continue to publish on Mondays. Throughout the summer and into the fall, the page will feature the chapter book, “The Ghost in the Courthouse Statue,” which revolves around the statue of Felix LaBauve (and perhaps it’s ghost) and the entertaining escapades of the town’s youth and the local newspaper. “Earthweek: A Diary of the Planet” also appears on Gear and provides up-to-date information regarding weather events, volcanos, earthquakes and other scientific events around the world.

Kidding Around will return on Saturday, Sept. 1, just in time for the start of the 2012-13 school year.
