  • Veterans who are in VA hospitals received special a Memorial Day gift thanks to the efforts of students at Columbia Elementary School. The Knox County Veterans Service Office sponsored a contest for students to create  cards to give to the veterans. South Vernon United Methodist Church provided supplies and delivered the cards to the veterans. Pictured are, first row, from left, Beau Bridges, Lilyann Johnston, Jake Fanning, Kloie Wright and Adyson Beaver.
