FREDERICKTOWN — As the 2012 class president and salutatorian Robbie Gregg said, Saturday’s commencement exercises at Fredericktown High School were not a celebration of an ending, but a celebration of a beginning. He told his classmates it may be “the end of the world as we know it, but it is the start of something new.”
After talking about the successes and accomplishments the Class of 2012 had in their high school careers, Gregg urged his fellow graduates to remember that leaving high school is not the end of education. “No matter what you are doing,” he said, “You’ll never stop learning.”
He told the class not to give up on their dreams, but to be open to different dreams. “Allow your experiences in the world to mold and change you,” he said. “Explore the world and learn about yourself.”
Student speaker Seth Robinson, graduating FFA president, also encouraged the seniors to explore the world. He said the class, together for four years, will now be traveling separate paths. He challenged them to not only follow the road not taken, but to dare to step off the path and blaze a new trail for themselves and for others.
