MOUNT VERNON — The deadline for registration and changes of address to vote in the Aug. 7 Special Election is July 9.

Voters in the Clear Fork and North Fork local school districts will be making a decision on a school levy on Aug. 7.

The Board of Elections will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for regular business hours. The office, located 117 E. High St., Room 210, will also be open July 9 from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Absentee and early voting will begin Tuesday in the office. Voters can request a ballot be mailed to them. The last day to vote absentee/early in the office is Friday, Aug. 3, until 6 p.m.

The deadline for requesting absentee ballots to be mailed out is Saturday, Aug. 4, at noon. The office will be open that day from 9 a.m. until noon for provisional voting and the return of voted ballots only.
