DANVILLE — Crafts are new to the Danville Farmers Market this year. The market, held at Memorial Park, 902 S. Market St., opened June 5, and is available every Tuesday.
Market coordinator Connie Mercier said offering crafts is experimental this year. The hope is that the addition to the market will increase participation. As the season progresses, two of the crafters will also offer produce as their gardens mature.
In honor of the Fourth of July, the market was decorated with red, white and blue flags and other patriotic decor. A number of the vendors were also wearing the colors. Patriotic music was playing and hot dogs and water were offered for donation.
