  • Rehearsal for the MTVarts production of “Grease” had to be canceled Thursday evening when electric service was lost at the Memorial Theater. Knox County Director of Maintenance John Alberts said that an American Electric Power connection that splices into a hot leg of the theater started arcing and burned through the wires. Director of “Grease” Bruce Jacklin expressed concern that rehearsal today is necessary for the musical to be presented this weekend. If power is not restored today, Jacklin said they may have to seek options of reimbursing advance-purchase ticket holders. AEP crew workers were to be on the site this morning to determine the cause and attempt to restore service to the theater. style=
