MOUNT VERNON — Electric power has been restored to the Knox County Memorial Theater, just in time for the cast and crew of “Grease” to run their final rehearsal tonight before Saturday’s opening performance.
Musical director Bruce Jacklin told the News that an American Electric Power crew inspected the damaged wires this morning which caused the power outage at the theater on Thursday.
“It was just some outdated wire that needed replaced,” said Jacklin. Wire damage was reportedly confined to the outside of the building.
Jacklin said that lighting and sound equipment were all tested after the electricity was restored around 11 a.m. today and that all seem to be operating efficiently. Cast members of “Grease” are expected to begin arriving at 5 today to prepare for two dress rehearsals which will begin at 7.
