UTICA — Words of praise for village residents and officials coming together in a time of crisis were heard when Utica Village Council met Monday evening at Utica town hall. Before Utica Mayor Lester Grennell could share his words of appreciation, thanks were heard from village residents about the way the community responded in the wake of last week’s windstorm.

“I want to thank you and your wife for going around and making sure people had everything they needed during that storm,” said Theresa Roy to Mayor Grennell. “Everyone worked together, which was very nice.”

Electric power was restored to the village on Wednesday, five days after the windstorm.
