MOUNT VERNON — Produce was distributed at The Station Break, Mount Vernon, in conjunction with the Mid-Ohio Food Bank on Wednesday.
According to coordinator Kelly Lybarger-DeWitt, around 10,000 pounds of food was delivered to The Station Break, in order to supply between 200 and 300 families.
The produce, including onions, carrots and cabbage, was offered to anyone in Knox County who met the income guidelines.
“Guidelines are much higher than people think, there is a leeway of almost $700,” Lybarger-DeWitt said. “People can call to see if they meet guidelines and it can be any age, not just seniors. ... We ask how many people are in the household, divide them into age ranges, and if they are under a certain income, they qualify. They are not required to bring proof of income.”
Produce will be distributed again on Aug. 15, months following August will depend on what produce is available.
