MOUNT VERNON — A jury of his peers found Michael Collins not guilty of all but two counts following a 5-day trial that charged him with murder, attempted murder, voluntary manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault.
The two counts Collins was convicted of were tampering with evidence and possessing a firearm while under disability.
Collins defense team argued throughout the trial that Collins was provoked by Lilly Dawn Pressley-Claggett and Jesse Collins to protect himself and his daughter, Melissa Collins.
