BRINKHAVEN — A bag containing what looked like dynamite caused great concern in the village of Brinkhaven Monday evening.
The Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District received a call from Norman Porter, who had been cleaning out his neighbor’s garage at 17070 Dodd Road, which had been vacated by renters, when he discovered a bag containing what he said looked like dynamite.
EKCJFD Capt. Brian Durbin told the News that the bag was investigated but the contents could not be identified. A call was made to the Columbus Division of Fire Bomb Squad whose officers also could not confirm the contents but believed the sticks could be a form of homemade fireworks.
The box was taken back to Columbus for further investigation. A final report has not been received by EKCJFD.
The property is owned by S&S Construction.
