MOUNT VERNON — Unofficial election results indicate the five-year 1 percent earned income tax levy the Clear Fork Valley Local Schools put before the voters on Tuesday’s special ballot passed by about 100 votes.
In Knox County, 46 individuals voted in favor of the levy, while 56 opposed it. In Richland County, 1,115 Clear Fork Valley voters supported the levy and 1,007 individuals did not. Total votes for the levy, 1,161; against the levy, 1,065.
School board president Gary Mathes said he was “very elated that the people in the Clear Fork Valley have once again agreed to support our excellent school district. We hope that we can continue forth now to provide a quality education for our kids.”
