  • Traffic was tied up at the intersection of West Vine and Sandusky streets around 2 p.m. Thursday. According to Mount Vernon Police officers, the driver of a westbound Oldsmobile Intrigue reportedly went through a red light while turning north from Vine onto Sandusky, striking a northbound Chrysler PT Cruiser. The Mount Vernon Fire Department also arrived at the scene, but no injuries were reported. Pictured is MVPD officer Fred Gerber discussing details of the accident with the victims.
