MOUNT VERNON — Interchurch Social Services will again offer clothing, school supply and taxable vouchers to eligible Knox County residents.

To be eligible, households must include children under the age of 18 and household income must be at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. In order to receive vouchers, families must provide proof of residency (a current utility bill is suggested), birth dates and social security numbers for every member of the household with no exceptions.

Vouchers will be distributed to residents in the Mount Vernon City School District on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., while supplies last, at the Salvation Army gymnasium, 206 E. Ohio Ave. School supply vouchers will be given to junior and senior high students in the Mount Vernon City School district.

Residents in the East Knox and Danville school districts can apply for vouchers on Wednesday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., while supplies last, at St. Luke Community Center, 307 S. Market St., Danville.

Residents in the Fredericktown school district can apply for vouchers on Tuesday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., while supplies last, at the Interchurch office located at 69 N. Main St.

Residents in the Centerburg school district should call 625-5940 to schedule an appointment.

Funding for the voucher program is provided by the Knox County Department of Job and Family Services.
