MOUNT VERNON — As people flowed to the north side of the square in anticipation of Saturday night’s featured entertainment, they were witnesses to the annual bell auction and the presentation of two major awards.
Receiving the Community Service Leadership Award was Matt Starr. He is the owner of I-Conn Video Productions, co-owner of Keylight Advertising Agency, an owner of Kokosing River Productions LLC. He has been in television and theater, is involved in the Knox County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival, Food for the Hungry, Knox Community Hospital Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce. He served as interim downtown manager for the city of Mount Vernon.
He was presented the award in the middle of the bell auction, when bell No. 6 was purchased for $1,500 and presented to him.
