CENTERBURG — Monday’s meeting of the Centerburg Board of Education was uneventful, treasurer Ellen Scott told the News on Tuesday.
In addition to approving fiscal actions, the board approved participation in the Ohio School Board Association workers’ compensation program and approved a purchase service agreement with Highland Local Schools for shared services for a Formative Instructional Practices coordinator to be paid from Race to the Top funding.
It contracted with Safe School Helpline for an anonymous bullying/harassment service for the 2012-13 school year, accepted a $199,980 21st Century Educational grant and authorized the bidding for a new school bus through the Metropolitan Educational Council. It also approved a monthly cell phone allowance for Vicki Nelson and Isaiah Hatfield to maintain a cell phone for business use and agreed to pay the Centerburg Athletic booster club for the water, gas and electric utility bills for the booster building from Aug. 1 through Oct. 31.
