MOUNT VERNON — A Mount Vernon couple is in the Knox County Jail tonight, held on charges of child endangerment related to the death of a 4-year-old Mount Vernon boy.

Tabitha Marie Raver and David Ray Scott Jr., are both being held without bond.

Raver called 9-1-1 Sunday evening and told a dispatcher her son wasn’t breathing. She said he had fallen down the stairs twice on Saturday at their West Vine Street residence.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the boy’s death.
