Trimming trees around the lines
These trees on Martinsburg Road, at the entrance to Mount Vernon Nazarene University, have grown up around power lines. Wednesday a crew was cutting away the limbs closest to the wires. Resident Tim Chestnut, who owns the property and trees on the right, said they are walnut believed to be more than 100 years old. Taking down the light
One of the two traffic lights at the Coshocton Road, Highland and Eastgate Drives was damaged when it was hit by the top of tractor-trailor Wednesday. As a result, other trucks passing by were hitting the light. City street employees Tom Hinkle (in the bucket) and Darren Tyson removed the light.
