MOUNT VERNON — A Mount Vernon couple is in the Knox County Jail, held on felony charges of child endangerment related to the death of 4-year-old Kendrick Breece.

Tabitha Marie Raver and David Ray Scott Jr., are both being held without bond after being arrested on Wednesday.

Raver, 27, called 9-1-1 Sunday evening and told a dispatcher her son wasn’t breathing. She said he had fallen down the stairs twice on Saturday.

According to Knox County Sheriff David Barber, Scott is Raver’s companion.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the boy’s death.
