FREDERICKTOWN — “Live Like There’s No Tomorrow” is the theme of the 36th annual Fredericktown Tomato Show, which kicked off in front of a large crowd at the festival stage Wednesday evening. Opening the festivities was chairman Jeff Shinaberry who welcomed the Fredericktown High School Marching Band who played a stirring rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner.” Shinaberry then introduced Fredericktown Mayor Alan Kintner who commented how the high school marching band will be seen in the state competition this year.
“It’s a great day to be here,” said Kintner in welcoming everyone who came out to the Tomato Show. He announced that during next year’s Tomato Show the 5K run will be on the village’s new gravel bike path which will be paved in 2014, encouraging anyone who wants to help with the project to contact town hall.
