MOUNT VERNON — Activity will soon be underway again at 1600 Coshocton with the re-opening of Dairy Queen Grill and Chill. General manager Valerie Haythorn told the News today that Bob and Pranay Patel are the new owners who have decided to take over the business. Closing on the property is scheduled for Sept. 26.

“We’re excited. We are getting ready to re-open and plan to be open by the end of October,” said Haythorn.

A few menu items will be added once the store opens, and some slight changes will be made to the interior of the building, said Haythorn. “We’ll make it just a little bit different than what it was before.”

Job applications are being accepted for employment at Dairy Queen through Opportunity Knox, and interviews are planned to begin the first week of October. “A lot of the old crew will be coming back,” said Haythorn.

The store will hire between 50 and 55 employees.
