MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County 9/12 Patriots hosted a Meet the Candidates Night last night at the Knox County Adult Education Building. Five candidates were invited to speak at the open forum discussion for which there were no preselected questions.
Three local candidates vying for the office of county commissioner responded to questions. The candidates were John Booth (Democrat), Thom Collier (Republican), and Jim Hughes (Independent). In the contest for state representative for Ohio’s 68th District was incumbent Margaret Ann Ruhl (R) and John Ryerson (D).
Ryerson, however, did not attend the event and only Ruhl responded to questions in the second forum.
Warren Edstrom, co-organizer of 9/12, served as moderator.
